Yorkshire Architectural Photographer Of The Year 2018 and 2021
I have over 30 years experience in commercial photography, working for building professionals, and design agencies, all over the UK. My passion for building photography stems from a former life where I trained as a Chartered Surveyor. I have a sound understanding of the building industry, and construction safety.
I am based in the north of England at the heart of the UK motorway network, and I can comfortably reach most major conurbations in a few hours. London is 1.5 hours by train. Although I am northern based, my fees for working in the South East can be very competitive. Recent assignments have taken me from Devon and Kent in the south, up to Highland Scotland in the north and over to Ireland. Most parts of the UK are covered on a regular basis.
I produce high quality powerful images. Whether technical building photography for architects and construction professionals, or creative marketing photography for design agencies, I try to be meticulous in using the right light, to bring out the best in any project, and use my experience to interperate the design elements. Whilst setting high standards in image quality, I still believe in offering old fashioned value for money, and have built a business on these two key ethics.
I frequently manage to split travelling costs between different clients, thereby offering savings to all involved. The fact that a lot of my clients have used me for many years, is testimony to this business philosophy. My sensible fee rates include everything I shoot and full reproduction rights - you only pay once.
Clients include Wates, Kingspan, Huber Car Parks, Kier, Costain, Volker, Marks & Spencer plc, Network Rail, Scarborough Group, Balfour Beatty, BAM, Morgan Sindall, Morrison Construction, Johnstone's Paints, Sims Metal Management, Elliott Group, Asda, Magnox Power, Amey, and numerous advertising & design agencies
Our Story
The business was established in the 1980's and has travelled a long journey, growing to have our own in-house lab, and at one time employing twelve staff. The advent of digital imaging transformed the photography industry and saw the demise of the film process. Now I work on a much simpler lower cost base, yet still retaining the ethos and approach that generated the success story of the past.
